Mentoring is designed to be a form of coaching where we take
the information, concepts and skills learned in the classroom setting and
practice implementing them into our day to day routines to produce observable
results. It's not enough to "know" the concepts and ideas behind techniques, but
you have actually got to be able to "live the knowledge" transforming it into
wisdom. When we create experiences of our knowledge we become wise.
I use the Mentoring process much like coaching to
"practice" using your mind with skill. We become conscious of how we are using our
mind currently to create our perceptions, representations, give things meaning, form attitudes and
behave as a result - and consciously design "new programs" to literally rewire our minds to run
that new program
producing different results. We use the skills learned in class, or selected by
the client to produce
results.
A mentor acts like an
objective observer to help you stay focused on the
skill at hand.
If you've ever suffered the frustration of knowing how powerful
information is, but just can't seem to figure out how to actually do it,
apply it to a variety of situations, or develop the outlook or attitude that
would help you to "pull it off," then the mentoring would be a valuable
service to consider. It would provide you with a creative, collaborative,
thinking partner who could coach through the developing the action plan,
witness the process, then discuss and evaluate the results, and alter the
strategy to optimize effectiveness, then cheerlead you on to repeating &
perfecting your performance.
Mentoring is practiced within
a time frame
that's appropriate for the knowledge or skill that is being mastered. It
will vary with each application.
Assessment: This session is performed to find
out where we are currently, situations, circumstances, challenges,
relationships, etc. Then form a well defined outcome, and determine what the
process to get "from here to there" will look like. Then we will specially
design your course to meet your needs. Approximately 2-3 hours.
Sessions: Will be approximately 1
hour in length. Sessions will be done in person, one-on-one.
Frequency will be decided during assessment or based on clients desire.
Professional
Consulting: This style of consulting is designed to deal
specifically with "People." Identifying potential problems and skill
development for communication break-down & problems, behavioral problems,
Emotional Intelligence, Leadership performance, Coaching employees, modeling
behavior, group dynamics, employee conflict, and building more effective
teams.
My consulting style does not "tell you what to do" but rather is designed
more in a "coaching style" of leading you through the process
of identifying and developing your own answers and increase your
skill at designing strategies to address these areas by
developing the skills necessary for all people involved. It is very much a
learning and growing experience, one that will give valuable tools
that will help to "create outcomes and influence people" more effectively in
the future, and also trouble shoot and form effective strategies for dealing
with People problems as they arise, or implementing training programs that
will teach these skills to your staff as part of your routine training
program.
I also provide "skill development" by coming into your place of
business and conducting seminars, workshops and one-on-one
training to teach the employees skills in communicating more
effectively, understanding "how people are motivated" and skills at
influencing and leading people, and being able to produce specific desired
outcomes in behavior, whether it yours or someone else's. I help develop the
creativity of business leaders and learning how to "think outside the
box." Develop your skills of creative thinking and master the art
of making decisions with clarity and confidence. My techniques
are very "psychology" oriented and do not deal with templates,
programs or simple descriptions of what to do, but are rather creative, experimental,
practical, personalized application of skills in using your mind,
or influencing the mind of others with technique and intention to
produce specific behavioral responses. They are catered to your specific
business, situation, personality types and various relationships.
Consulting can be done hourly, on a
regular and routine basis,
one day sessions or for a
specified period of time, based on the needs of the client and the
subjects that will be addressed. These session are catered to your specific
needs and will be dynamic in nature. Services can
be combined - example: 2 days of consulting/coaching with one day
of one-on-one training with specific individuals, and a half-day class for
other staff members. If travel is involved it
will include all travel expenses, time traveling and per-deem.
